FATCA
FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) is a US law requiring financial institutions worldwide to identify accounts of US taxpayers and report certain data to the US tax authority. Switzerland and the United States have an agreement to implement it. These duties explain why some Swiss firms do not accept US-person clients, or only through a dedicated entity.
