Supervisory organisation (SO)

A supervisory organisation (SO) is a body authorised by FINMA that carries out the ongoing supervision of portfolio managers and trustees licensed under FinIA.

The SO checks that the firm continuously meets the conditions of its licence and the rules of conduct, in particular through regular audits. FINMA remains in charge of granting and withdrawing the licence.

FINMA's list of portfolio managers and trustees names the SO of each firm. The authorised SOs are AOOS, OSFINcontrol, OSIF and SO-FIT.
