Assets-based fee
An assets-based fee (management fee) is an annual charge expressed as a percentage of the assets managed, usually billed quarterly. Custodian bank costs (custody fees, brokerage) and, depending on the contract, a performance fee often come on top. Some providers charge a flat or hourly fee instead. FinSA requires the client to be informed of costs before the contract is signed.
